Duck Dynasty, Powder Keg for the Cultural Revolution!

I think America may finally be waking up! The removal of Phil Robertson from Duck Dynasty by A & E has lit the fuse on the cultural revolution in America. Hard working, law-abiding, God-fearing, and traditional valued Americans, which is the vast majority of this country have been pushed into a corner and finally I think we may come out swinging! Personally, I’m tired of having to sit by and be quiet while a small percentage of vocal people who have no sense of our national history take away our constitutional rights.

I’m guessing the liberal left and the “Intolerant, tolerants” have never toured Washington D.C. and seen the scriptural inscriptions on almost all the historic monuments. I’m tired of editing everything to not offend. I’m tired as a Christian to be so freakin politically correct in an effort to reach people. I think it is time to get back to a strong, clear truth-telling way of living and let God sortem out. I am responsible for my eternal destiny and you are responsible for yours. Me being Casper milk toast isn’t going to make you want to follow Christ.

I was just a Cracker Barrel for breakfast and saw the manager put up the 40% off signs on the entire Duck Dynasty Section of merchandise. I said, “You guys too?” She said, “It wasn’t my decision!” I’m calling for all Americans who believe in free speech and our Judeo/Christian foundation to stand up and be counted. Be counted by the way you vote. Be counted by what places you spend your money. Be counted by without being obnoxious, not being afraid to speak up and counter the insanity that is modern-day America!

The Bible is God’s revealed word. It tells us what He is like and what He wants us to be like. It tells us how, you and me as fallen humans can come into a relationship with the Almighty. Because every one of us has sinned and fallen short of the ideal, doesn’t mean you discard the ideal. Yes, it does teach, incest, bestiality, fornication, adultery, homosexuality are all outside the ideal. Not because God is some killjoy, but because He wants us to have life at the fullest.

The fuse is lit, the powder keg has blown, the lines are drawn. For me and my house, we will serve the Lord!

blessings,

Scott

About Scott Ranck

Enjoying life with my wife Gayle and our Yorkie, Zoe boy. I've come to believe life begins when through brokenness I can embrace it fully and openly. I've learned the human drama is an adventure and all of us are made of the same stuff. The Lord is the only being who knows me fully and he has an individual educational plan of life long learning for me and I'm enrolled. This blog is all about what I'm learning.

  4. GB says:

Duck Dynasty merchandise is owned by A&E, Duck Commander merchandise is owned by the Robertson’s. Cracker Barrel is continuing to sell Duck Commander merchandise NOT the A&E owned Duck Dynasty merchandise.

Hmm.. after reading your last Post via my email… I must say that I could not agree W/your last statement more!!
There R many different ways (or so it seems 2 B, especially now days) W/all of the “Social-Media craze/ways than ever before!! & @ Phil Robertson… my hat is tipped in your direction where ever U may be!!!

  6. I wonder, Scott, if Cracker Barrel is getting rid of their Duck Dynasty merchandise because it is owned by A&E? I think the ownership is pretty conservative. Duck Commander merchandise is owned by the Robertson family.

  7. I also wonder if this might not be the spark that lights a revival in this nation. It seems to be waking a slumbering element.

  8. Kevin Ditamore says:

Yes Leviticus says that homosexual sex is an abomination. But Leviticus also says that it is an abomination to eat shellfish. Same word … abomination. Homosexuals. Shellfish.

So much for Red Lobster after church on Sunday afternoon.

OK so it’s also in the New Testament … Romans says homosexual acts are shameful. But the same guy who wrote that also said in Corinthians that it is shameful for a man to have long hair. Don’t those Duck Dynasty guys have long hair???

The Bible is chock full of admonitions that Christians conveniently strike off the list of things they have to obey because they are no longer “culturally relevant.” Slaves obey your masters … … don’t wear a garment made from two different kinds of cloth … don’t mix meat and dairy in the same food (so much for cheeseburger in paradise) … women must be silent in church and if they have a question ask their husbands when they get home … no tatoos (not even of Jesus? or a cross?).

Leviticus says we should kill homosexuals. It does. No denying that. So why are you disobeying God and not killing homosexuals when you see them??? Probably for the same reason you never killed your own children when they disrespected you, but that’s a command too! When you get right down to it, most of us have done many things many times in our lives that would have gotten us killed if the people who say the Bible is absolute truth really believed that and took it all literally.

Society is finally coming to terms with the fact that there has always been a 5-8% population of the world that has a different sexual orientation than the majority. It’s time Christians stop proof-texting their bigotry against people who are different, and start “loving thy neighbor as thyself” EVEN IF YOUR NEIGHBOR IS GAY.

Your neighbor may be gay, but you just don’t know it. So might a few people who sit near you in church.

Geesh, I love and serve all kinds of people who fall short like I do, including all kinds of variables. Jesus loves us all. But it is still right to acknowledge behaviors that are hurtful. I was an adulterer but it carried a huge pricetag! Love says there is a better way but it is between the individual and God to sort it out!

  9. Jan Hertsens says:

So basically, you are saying: :”You guys are intolerant of my intolerance!” ? Also, who’s free speech is threatened here? It wasn’t the government that did anything. It was an employer who fires an employee for being a retard in public. Aren’t you regressives supposed to worship the free market?

  10. Scott Ranck says:

No Jan, I’m tired of the intolerance by all who think we all can’t have differing opinions without being called “regressives” or some other juvenile name calling like has become the whole defense the left has when anyone has a different opinion than theirs. A & E had a representative present for the interview and at any time could have said this part won’t be aired to protect our interests but instead let it go to press and then body slammed him. The problem is A & E aired Duck Dynasty thinking America would make fun of the family rather than embrace them! A & E is also irritated the family’s beliefs can’t be put in a box and controlled. So, feel free to speak your mind and I will do the same.
